CHEF Talks
CHEF is pleased to partner with Zion Lutheran Church, 330 Griswold Street, Elgin IL 60123, the second Monday of each month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. for the first lecture series of its kind in Elgin called CHEFTalks (like TEDTalks). The talks will focus on topics related to better health through better eating. And there also be a potluck dinner during along with the CHEFTalks.
First CHEFTalks will be held Monday, July 8, 2019, 6:30 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Elgin.
We are pleased to have our very own Julie Dahlberg a CHEF Director, Registered Dietitian, Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine member, launch our first CHEFTalks. At our first meeting, we will talk about the CHEF mission to promote better health through better eating and describe how the potluck will operate.
We will ask participants at the August 12th meeting to bring a dish to share for about 5 people, using the guidelines listed, and to bring your table service (plate, cup, spoon, knife and fork, to use and then to take home to wash). This is our small effort to help the environment by using fewer disposables for these events.
Each month we will offer a new topic and new presenter to talk about healthy eating. Topics such as Brain Health, Power of the Plate, Nutrition for Kids, The Protein Myth and more.
The CHEFTalks are free and open to the public, but we do ask you to register through Eventbrites: here.
We hope to see you there!
