U-46 District
After hearing of CHEF’s mission, the Director of U-46’s Food Services invited CHEF to create a program that we are calling “The Celebrity CHEF Project” that will do “demos” for elementary school students to eat better food so they have lots of energy to concentrate on their studies. CHEF has and continues to enlist a number of local chefs to volunteer one or two hours just one or two days each year to go into the classroom and excite the students to eat X-ray vision carrots, Superman Quinoa salad and more!
District U-46* Schools serve families who speak 103 different languages. “The Celebrity CHEF Project” will start in September 2019 and will run through the academic school year.
CHEF’s focus is to encourage young children to eliminate processed foods and replace them with fresh, whole fruits and vegetables, beans, legumes, seeds and nuts, that help promote good health and share that information with their families.
If you are if you know a chef who might be interested in participating in the program are interested in learning more about this project, please contact Jo Ann at chefillinois@gmail.com or call 847-888-1844.
